Zig when everyone zags and the problem with it

Zig when everyone else Zags…. And why I have a problem with it…

So, it’s seems to be a kinda cool expression these days…

Which has a good message behind it not to follow the crowd…

and the opportunity lies in the less crowded behaviour…

But… what about when something you’ve been doing for decades becomes ‘cool’…

It’s a little like when the tourists come in and take over a quiet little place…

Well my question is what if you did zig when others zagged… then your zig over time becomes a zag…

Now the zaggers have caught up to your zig

So the question I ask myself…

Am I now a zigger or a zagger?

Hahaaha…

Anyway I came across this photo from 1999 when it wasn’t cool to have a laptop and live the laptop life…

Batteries only lasted 45 minutes and the dial up modem inside the laptop needed a 20m chord to reach the phone socket

This laptop has a trackball mouse too

I was working at park benches overlooking the ocean with a UPS which would give me another 45 minutes of power supply when my battery ran out!

I was NOT the cool person…

I was writing software… software I later sold…

But back then I knew to follow my passion and let the solutions unfold…

Hahaha anyway…

Then 10 years later combine that with ‘online business marketing’ on a  laptop…

I sold my first online digital product in 2009 to a lady in India…

She was teaching her son how to play tennis and they printed out my diagram and had in on their wall and took a photo of them in front of it…

It was SO trippy!!!

My knowledge was helping someone i had never met…

They were listening and implementing by going through the online course!

Filmed on a camcorder and voice recorder and clapped to sync the tracks visually in the video editor…

So yep…

I’ll keep doing my zig from a long time ago…
