Smile no matter what...

life Oct 01, 2019

I have said it three times in the last few hours in conversations so I thought I’ll share it here...

When things seem really bad I smile. I am not sure where this came from but I know it was influenced by good friend Stig Åvall Severinsen...

When we were doing breath hold training he would always say as you come out of the dive you finish with a smile.

When dad was at his sickest, when we were faced with never ending bad news, when times got really really tough I found myself smiling.

Not a delusional smile...

Not a vacant smile...

In fact the opposite...

A very present smile.

I am present. I am grateful. I have now.

I am alive.

I can feel emotions...

I can feel the full spectrum emotions...

I am not scared of them...

For this is the human experience...

Once that we can only experience in this body.

Souls, people represented / occupying a physical form.

To walk, touch, hold, see admire and smile at...

To occupy physical space with. To share a moment in time with.

To share this amazing planet, with the combination of people alive at the same time as me...

Wow... grateful... how can we not smile...

We are here... we are now...

One of the gifts dad gave me in his last few days on this earth was the gift of knowing all is love.

We shared experiences of him coming back and forth between worlds...

One of his more powerful reveals was that there is this place he is going that is full of love. Where everyone loves you as much or more than your family...

This brings me amazing peace and gratitude that he gave us this gift. (There is a bigger/spooky version of this story for another time)

So, we come back to the smile...

Smiling with gratitude... smiling with being present... smiling with love...

How can we add more of this into our days while here on this earth?

Mini moments of presence and elation...

Seriously we are here... right now... occupying a human body and surrounded by awesome souls occupying bodies to have an awesome experience too...

Material things are not a scorecard... they are merely fun facilitators... so double check to see if they bring you real pleasure...

For me shared experiences multiply my experience. I love seeing people also enjoy life!

New skills, new emotions, new things to love!

Especially when these involve nature... the magical unlimited energy to tap into and enjoy, together, with other like minded people...

Smile no matter what is happening...

Smile for the present moment because after all, that is all we ever really have 🙂

Hmmm now to choose a picture to go with this mental riff 🙂 - sunrises are where I like to watch the earth dance with the sun and cherish the present moment... 🙂
