What are we really buying?

I'm sitting here in a raw, gluten free, vegan cafe. All the food is activated, drinks with amazing kefir etc.

So, it occurred to me that this small cafe kitchen probably pumps out more nutrition in one day than many many 'food' mega factories do in 1 year.

So the question... What are we really buying from much of the mass food industry supplying the supermarket shelves?

My understanding is that our hunger is not our body asking us to 'fill us up'.
Our body is asking us for nutrition.

If we give it food -without- nutrition it will simply ask us again by feeling hungry and the vicious cycle continues.

So, the shift is from eating to fill up to eating for nutrition. It is not expensive if you measure the $ to nutrition ratio
